On the 17th October Parklands confirmed that they have received the go ahead from Highland Council for their plans for a 40 roomed Care home on Ness Road, Fortrose, Black Isle.
Our Chair Brian Devlin says;
“I am delighted that Highland Council Area Committee have today given planning permission for Parklands to proceed with their development in Fortrose. This will be welcome news for those in our community requiring this type of care.
Since the closure of the Marine people who were told that that was their home-for the remaining portion of their life- have felt dismay, hurt and anger.
Their dispersal across the Highlands to other areas was a time of shame and disruption. There is a crisis of care for the elderly on the Black Isle and a single care home won’t, in itself, fix that crisis – but it will help greatly.
I am proud the Black Isle Cares has played a significant part in supporting Parklands in their venture and we look forward to seeing the facility used and becoming a focal point in our community.”.
